This Week at WEPTAC

This week I attended the 2016 Air National Guard Weapons and Tactics Conference (WEPTAC) in Tucson, AZ.  The purpose of WEPTAC is to allow senior members of the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves the opportunity to define the warfighters requirements from a bottom up perspective bringing in weapons officers and tacticians from across the Air Reserve Component. The attendees spend three days discussing what their needs are from a warfighter view to help them do their job better.  There were 27 different working groups with specific breakouts tasked to discuss the tactical development and modernization planning for the future of their respective airframes.

Battlefield Airman from their respective communities used their breakout sessions to discuss improvements in tactics, techniques and procedures including emerging technologies and capabilities.  Team Wendy helmets are being used by an increasing number of Pararescue (PJ) and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) teams including Reserve and Air National Guard components.
