The Plain Dealer Names Team Wendy® A Winner of the Cleveland Top Workplaces 2019 Award

First-Time Entry Results in First-Time Win
CLEVELAND (June 16, 2019) – Cleveland-based Team Wendy®, which researches and develops high-quality helmet systems from the inside out, has been awarded a Northeast Ohio Top Workplaces 2019 honor by The Plain Dealer in the small company category. Winners are selected based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools.

Eighty-four percent of Team Wendy’s 101 local employees completed the Energage survey in order for the company to be eligible for the award, surpassing the 54 percent participation benchmark. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, effectiveness and connection.
Of the 260 companies in northeast Ohio that participated in the survey this year, 150 were selected for a Top Workplaces Award: 24 in the large company category, 51 in the midsize company category and 75 in the small company category. Team Wendy ranked No. 52 among the small businesses, which are defined as having 149 or fewer local employees.
“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement that organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
Team Wendy was also named one of NorthCoast 99’s Best Places to Work in Northeast Ohio in 2016.
