Dustin Fiero: A Lifetime Dedicated to Ocean Rescue

Throughout his career, Dustin has operated rescue jet skis at renowned surf breaks including Nazaré, Portugal; Cortes Bank off the coast of Southern California; Mavericks in Northern California; and Todos Santos, Mexico. These locations are known for producing massive, powerful waves that demand exceptional expertise and quick decision-making. The experience Dustin gained navigating extreme ocean conditions has proven invaluable during large swell events in San Diego, where his skills have helped protect both fellow lifeguards and members of the public in need of rescue. 

While his foundation is rooted in ocean lifeguarding, Dustin has also developed a strong passion for technical rescue. Committed to advancing his knowledge and helping others do the same, he has earned California State Instructor certifications in three rescue disciplines. Today, he teaches for Peak Rescue, sharing his expertise with rescue professionals and helping prepare the next generation of responders for high-risk environments.
